Bethany Lakes' Waterfall Pool - June 29, 2008

Fished Bethany Lakes Waterfall Pool this morning. Caught small Sunfish and Bluegill using a Bead Head Natural Rabbit Fur Midge. Did chance into a 14" Bass. Caught a small fingerling-sized Sunfish; Bass struck the Sunfish and was hooked on the fly. Also, was joined by a Water Snake that decided to swim the pool. Pictures posted below.

Pond in Richardson - June 28, 2008

Fished a pond in Richardson on the SE corner of Beltline and Cottonwood Drive. Caught small Sunfish using a Prince Nymph Fly. Pictures posted below.

Erwin Park - June 27, 2008

Fished Erwin Park in McKinney for a chance at the small Bass. Water level was lower since the last time we stopped by. However, the Bass were still there; caught 8 on a Crappie Jig Fly Variant. Pictures posted below.

Bethany Lakes - June 25, 2008

Fished Bethany Lakes' Main Pond, Back Pond, and Waterfall Pool this evening. Had to leave early due to the thunderstorm but was able to catch the usual suspects - Sunfish and Bluegill on a Gangle-Legged Fly and an Olive Wooly Bugger. Also, caught a 9" Bass on a Black Marabou Streamer. Pictures posted below.

Davis Library Pond in Plano - June 23, 2008

Tried for the Bass at the Davis Library pond again. No luck with the Bass but did take a large Bluegill on an Olive Wooly Bugger on the flyfishing gear. Picture posted below.

Fished Bethany Ridge Park pond this evening. Caught a Sunfish and lost another using a Dryfly on flyfishing gear. Picture posted below.

Pond Behind Davis Library - June 19, 2008

Fished the pond behind Davis Library in Plano. Caught a Bluegill on a Prince Nymph Fly and a Tilapia on a Black Marabou Streamer using flyfishing gear. Also, saw a large Koi and had multiple Bass chasing my fly; just could not strike fast enough before the fish spit it out. Pictures posted below.

Creek @ Towne Lake - June 16, 2008

Fished the creek at Towne Lake in Mckinney this afternoon. The creek was murky and shallow but was flowing. Managed to catch a small fish on a White Crappie Jig Fly using flyfishing gear; missed several others with short strikes on the fly. Pictures posted below.

Bethany Lakes - June 8, 2008

Fished Bethany Lakes' Lower Pond this morning and caught two Bass - 9" and 12" in size. Then, fished the pool by the Waterfall and caught two Sunfish - 5" and 6" in size.

Despite the strong wind, was able to work a Black Streamer just below the surface on flyfishing gear. Pictures posted below.

No Joy Today - Lake Lavon @ Brockdale Park - June 7, 2008

No joy today at Brockdale Park. Trolled with White Crappie Jigs with no hits. Strong wind made it tough to fish. Factoring the wind and time of day - around Noon, may explain why we did not hook up. Going to have to give it a try later once the wind dies down.

Erwin Park - June 2, 2008

Fished Erwin Park in Mckinney. Caught 7 small Bass ranging 6" to 8" in size. Used flyfishing gear and a Black Streamer and a White Crappie Jig Fly. All were caught shallow and seemed to prefer a steady but fast retrieve. Pictures posted below.
