More Fun at Russell Creek Park!

Spent the afternoon fly fishing at Russell Creek Park in Plano.  Mainly used the Yellow Foam Spider but did catch a few with a Pheasant Tail Nymph and a Griffith's Gnat.  Caught and released 34... fun stuff!

  1. Which fly setup do you use? I've always used a spinning rod and now want to get into fly fishing.

  2. Lately, we have been using either a nine foot 5-Wieght Fly Rod or a seven and a half foot 4-Weight Fly Rod. This last trip to Russell Creek was with the 5-Weight; mainly went with it because of the windy conditions. Of the two, prefer the 4-Weight as it does not overpower the little fish that we mainly catch but will bring in a Bruiser if needed.
