Kayak Trolling This Morning!

Went kayak fishing this morning.  Was planning to launch from the free boat ramp nearest the dam.  Road was closed. Luckily, had the COE Annual Pass, so went to Lavonia Park and put in from the Day Use Area.

Paddled out to the Point we like to fish and began working the area... trolling a Slab and Crappie Jig Rig as well as casting to boils!

Caught two Yellow Bass and a number of White Bass with three Keepers.  Fish for Dinner tonight!

  1. What is a COE annual pass? WTG catching those sandies! How often do you hit Lavon? Maybe we catch some together one of these days

  2. Hi Adrian,
COE Annual Pass is the Corp of Engineers Annual Pass that allows the purchaser access to Day Use Areas and Boat Ramps for all Corps of Engineers managed lakes nation-wide. Cost $30 and is good from the calendar month purchased and expires the following year of the same calendar month it was purchased. It's not a bad deal!

Thanks for the WTG, We fish Lavon more in the Summer but it varies from year to year depending on lake levels. Look for us in a Tan SINK and/or a Blue SOT!
