Three Bass and a Shellcracker This Time

Short video clip of today's catch.  Missed a lot more than was caught; still had a fun time!   Caught the Bass using a Lefty Deceiver.  Caught the Shellcracker using a BH Nymph.  Fun stuff.

Dry Flies and a BH Nymph This Time!

Fished Bethany this evening.  Went with the four weight fly rod and dry flies and one bead head nymph.  Caught Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish.  Lost count of how many fish.  Surface action was good, especially liked the Bass taking a dry fly that simulates a dragon fly.  Also, largest Sunfish went about 8.5" in length.

Frustrating Frisco Evening Bite!

Rained for a couple of days but today it let up.  Skies cleared up and temps rose; turned out to be a really nice day.  So, what better than to go for quick trip for more Rainbow Trout.

Fished the evening bite at Frisco Commons Pond.  Was a frustrating trip; had to keep changing fishing flies until we lucked into an Olive Dry Fly Midge in size 18.  Managed to catch one little Bluegill and one Rainbow Trout.  Then, missed several more.

Another fisherman caught a Rainbow Trout using a BH Nymph and then gave it to us to add to our creel... good thing, as more missed strikes after dark on the Dry Fly as well as a Copper John would have made for a one Trout dinner.

Took a Break,....

Long day at work and still going.  Had to take a break and wet a line at Bethany.  No Bruisers, just four Sunfish/Bluegill on a BH Nymph and a BH Antron Streamer.

Strike Indicator and a BH Nymph....

Saw a YouTube Video for a diy strike indicator.  Liked it, so made a couple and went to Bethany to test it out.  Simple to make requiring a little "O" Ring, Glo-Bug Yarn, and Thread!  Field test gives it a thumbs up.... caught one little Bass and lost another while bringing it in.  Liking this setup - a BH Nymph under a Strike Indicator.  Keeping this setup handy for later when Trout Stockings begin again later this year!
