Stoney Hollow Park This Round

Decided to fish Stoney Hollow Park pond in Plano Friday evening.  Had good success there in the past.  This round went with a five weight fly rod and a Purple COAF Damsel Fly in size 12. Been having good success with the size 12 lately.

This round started slow but did pick up with Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish, and a Crappie!  Did see a Bruiser Bass lurking in the area but was not interested in a fishing fly.  Fun stuff; gonna have to come back for another round later!

More Fishing with a Crankbait This Cold Morning

Cannot help but fish again this morning.  Braved the cold temps and fished the same crankbait (Rapala Clack and Rap) we used yesterday at Plano East Senior High School.  This time went to Stoney Hollow Park in Plano.  Had not fished it in awhile.  Glad to see the Bass were biting somewhat.  Lucked out with four Bass this round; all struck near the weed line that parallels the bank.

Struck Out Last Night...!

Struck out last night at Auburn Springs and Kroger Park. Hope to turn this trend around over the 3-Day Weekend... hopefully! Tied a Deer Hair Bug to replace the Red and White Surface Popper lost while fishing Stoney Hollow the other day. Tied using a similar sized hook as the Red and White Surface Popper. Should be able to handle a Bruiser or two!

Update:  Fished Stoney Hollow Park and caught two Bass on the Surface Popper.  Had a number of missed strikes.  And, had a water snake check out one of the Bass.  Had pictures of the Bass and the water snake... but erased them by accident.

Stoney Hollow Park... Bass Go For the Surface Popper, Too!

Stopped by Stoney Hollow Park in Plano to fish the pond.  Had not been there in a while but was pleasantly surprised that the Bass were liking the Surface Popper, too!  Only bad thing... lost the Red and White Deer Hair Bug after a Bass wrapped the line around a snag.  Good to have the back up Green and White Deer Hair Bug.
