PS: Davis Library Pond - July 27, 2008

PS: Fished the pond behind Davis Library in Plano. Used Bread in hopes of hooking Tilipia. No luck. Saw them swimming around but did not look interested in my bait. Have to try another means to get them to bite.

Bethany Lakes - Catfish in the AM.

Fished Bethany Lakes Main Pond this morning around 8:30AM. Used Bread Bait and chummed with the Dough Bait. Caught one 19" Catfish and had several other strikes but no hook-ups. Best guess based on the last few outings is to fish for Catfish in the early evening. Picture posted below.

Bethany Lakes - Early Evening Catfish

Fished Bethany Lakes' Main Pond in the early evening for another go at the Catfish using both Bread and homemade Dough Bait. Both baits worked but had more strikes on the Bread Bait. Caught Catfish ranging from 19" to 26" in size. Largest weighed in at ~ 5 lbs. Pictures posted below (tape measure is 19" long).

Bethany Lakes - Late Evening Catfish Outing

Fished Bethany Lakes Main Pond in the late evening. Used Bread and Dough Bait. Caught two on the Bread Bait; caught one on the Dough Bait. Largest measured slightly over 24". As it was dark, pictures were tough to take on a camera phone. Posted a sampling below.

Bethany Lakes - Catfish Fishing Video Clip

Fished Bethany Lakes this afternoon to capture video of the Catfish fishing in the Main Pond. Action was slower than our last trip. Still had fun today with one Catfish hooked but lost while landing, several bites but no hook-ups, and one 22" Catfish that went 5 lbs. Video posted below. Bethany Lakes' Catfish - July 20, 2008

Fished Bethany Lakes' Main Pond this afternoon for Catfish using both Bread and homemade Dough Bait. Good outing with success on both baits; however, liked the Dough Bait over Bread because it stayed on the hook better. Caught several Catfish ranging from 15" to 24" in size. Largest weighed in at about 5 lbs. Not bad for a quick trip to a community lake. Pictures posted below (tape measure is 19" long).

Tilapia, Bluegill, Sunfish, and a Bass

Fished the Pond behind Davis Library in Plano this morning. Some short strikes from Bluegill but no hook ups using a Black Nosed Dace, went to the feeder creek by the bridge and noticed small fish in the shallows. Tied on a small Midge pattern and was able to hook two fingerling Tilapia. Pictures posted below.

Went back to Allen and fished Bethany Ridge Pond's feeder creek. Caught Bluegill/Sunfish and one small Bass on various fishing flies. Pictures posted below.

Celebration Park's North Pond - July 19, 2008

Fished Celebration Park's North Pond for a go at the Catfish again. Despite the heat caught several with the largest going 20". Used Dough Bait and light spinfishing gear. Pictures posted below.

Celebration Park's North Pond - July 16, 2008

Checked out Celebration Park again, but this time fished the North Pond. Used Bread and caught a 2.5lbs Catfish that went 20". Else, a lot of small Bluegill and Sunfish that were ready to strike at anything. Pictures posted below.

Bethany Creek Pond - July 16, 2008

Quick trip this afternoon to Bethany Creek Pond's feeder creek/canal. Fished near the bridge that crosses the canal. Caught several Sunfish and a small fingerling Bass on a Black Nosed Dace. Pictures posted below.
