Fished the Trout Derby; limited out using Powerbait. Caught four in less than hour, and then took another hour to get the last one. Cold temps, so decided to head home and cook them up on an open fire and iron skillet! Tasty brunch, but not enough to slow us down. Returned to Town Lake for some catch and release action using Fly Fishing Gear. Ended up catching more on a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph by the bridge. Fun stuff!

Made it to the McKinney Trout Derby this morning. Lotta fishermen, lotta Trout, lotta limits taken... and trophies to award! Field Team's T-Bone and Fshng84 managed to limit out early. Each taking a limit using Rainbow Glitter Powerbait. Even better - Fshng84 ties for the 3rd Smallest Trout in the Adult Category... measuring a whopping 7-5/8"!
