Try the Bait To Catch Bait To Catch Bigger Fish! #saltwater #fishing #tips

Fishbites Work!

Year in and year out, it seems Fishbites produce for us. Meaning we can bait our hooks and consistently catch bait fish like Croaker, Whiting, Perch, and such. It stays on the hook after multiple catches, is easy to clean up - no messy fish slime, and does not require an ice chest to keep it cool.

Give them a try next chance you fish saltwater. Who knows, you may catch the bait that caught your personal best fish!

How We Caught Sand Trout at Galveston Fishing Pier

Here is a brief demo of the technique we used fishing for Sand Trout this past week at Galveston Fishing Pier. Slow reel, trout mouths lure, feel pressure (resistance), set hook! Do give it a try... should work for Speckle Trout, too. Let us know if it works for you, too!

Ultralight Baitcasting for Jack Crevalle not Pompano #saltwater #fishing #shorts

Quick YouTube shorts of yours truly sight casting to feeding (correction Jack Crevalle) not Pompano with a tandem rigged speck rig and the Shimano Scorpion BFS XG reel and Bass Pro MicroLite Rod... works in Saltwater too!

Ultralight Baitcasting on a Pier? #fishing #saltwater #baitfinesse

Great start to our trip to the Texas Coast, fishing the Galveston Fishing Pier in 2022!

Steady action on sand trout, hardheads and gaff top... with a nice 41 inch redfish to spice things up.

Even broke out the ultralight baitcaster and the tandem rigged spec rigs for sand trout under the lights!

Do stay tuned for more!

Galveston Fishing Preps | Reviewing the Fishing Regulations

In our preparations for heading to the coast this next week, always good to review the fishing regulations so we know what are the legal daily limits, minimum and maximum lengths, and other things we should be aware of!

On the Road This Weekend, Fished Galveston!

On the road this past weekend. Fished Galveston, Texas at the 61st Street Fishing Pier! Had a great time with nice weather and lots of action on Gafftop, Sand Trout, Whiting... and small Sharks. Met some great folks - other fishermen and the Pier Staff! Even saw part of reality TV show  "Little People" being filmed!

Fish Activity Under Green Lights!

While waiting for a table at a Seafood Restaurant just off the Intracoastal in Laguna Madre, we see fish activity under the green lights by their dock.  We see a number of fish and suspect there are a few Ladyfish, Speckle Trout, and Redfish.  Wish we had out fishing rods!

One More Go Fishing at the Beach - July 18, 2013

One more go fishing at the beach before we head back.  Lots of seaweed made it tough to fish but did manage to catch a 14" Speckle Trout.  Also, caught bait fish using the cast net and saw a Portuguese Man O' War wash up on the beach!

Another Go at Packery Channel - July 17, 2013

More rain in the area but made a break for Packery Channel again when the rain let up.  Fished with Live Shrimp and Cut Bait and caught a number of fish!  No Keepers again though!

Packery Channel This Round - July 16, 2013

Rain slowed us up a little, but saw a break and rigged up Popping Corks and baited up with Live Shrimp and fished the Packery Channel.  Caught Speckle Trout, Red Fish, and a Lady Fish.  Fun stuff... no Keepers this round though!

Live Shrimp in the Surf This Round - July 15, 2013

After fishing the Jetty Party Boat in Port Aransas Monday morning, decided to hit the surf for more fishing!  Went with Live Shrimp and Medium Spinning Gear.  Was able to catch a Jack Crevalle, a Perch (we think), and a Croaker!  A tasty wave and a cool Bud is all we needed!

Jetty Boat Fishing - July 15, 2013

Decided to take the Jetty Boat in Port Aransas and see how the fish were biting on Monday, July 15.  Things started out slow but a couple of Black Tip Shark were caught.  Moved to another spot and caught Angel Fish; others caught a Red Fish and a Red Snapper.  Made one more stop and caught another type of Snapper.  Fun stuff once the bite was on!

More Fun on the Coast - July 14, 2013

Setup for another go at fishing while at Port Aransas.  Started out catching Whiting for bait, then used the kayak to deploy baits past the third sand bar.  Hoped for Shark but ended up with a Keeper Speckle Trout that went 18" in size, a large Whiting, and a 24"+ Ladyfish!  Fun stuff!
