Bass Number 2 on the One Lure Challenge – Weightless Texas-Rigged Senko on BFS Gear

Bass #2 on the One Lure Challenge – Weightless Texas-Rigged Senko on BFS Gear

Bass Number 2 on the One Lure Challenge
Weightless Texas-Rigged Senko on BFS Gear

Hey friends, Average Angler Life here.

The one-lure challenge continues and bass number 2 is officially on the board.

This time I switched things up and went with a classic weightless Texas-rigged Senko, fished on BFS (Bait Finesse System) gear. Light tackle, soft presentation, and the Senko did what it does best — got bit.

There’s something special about sticking to one lure for a stretch of time. You really start to understand how it moves, how the fish are responding, and how small adjustments can make a difference. The weightless Texas-rig Senko on BFS gear felt perfect for the pond — subtle, natural, and just enough action to draw strikes.

Bass number 2 was a fun fight on the light setup and another solid step forward in the challenge.

Are you running a one-lure challenge right now? What bait did you commit to and how many fish have you landed so far? I’d love to hear about it.

Tight lines, stay curious, and I’ll catch you on the next trip.

Switch Rod and a Senko... Swenko This Round!

Took out the Switch Rod and tied on a Gander Mountain Senko, and then fished Bethany Lakes this evening.  Missed several Bass but after a short while was able to time the hook set... managed to catch eight Bass this round. For reference, calling this Swenko Fishing! Fun stuff!

Plastics Worked This Round...

Made it out to Bethany this evening for a round of fishing. Fished with Gander Mountain's Senko style plastic worm. The worms look like Gary Yamamota Senkos but are lighter and have a hook groove molded in the body.

After getting used to casting the lighter plastic worm, was able to hook up with a few Bass. Lotta fun... ended up catching and releasing eight Bass!

One Bass, One Catfish

Fished a Senko this morning at Bethany.  Had a strike and a miss, then a strike and a hook-up, and a strike and another miss!  One Bass on the Senko was the result.

Then, switched to Bread; caught a Catfish that went about 16" in size.  Took about 15" for the bite; tried one more cast using Bread.  No more hook-ups, so called it a morning.

Still a lot of fun.  Was good to see Senkos and Bread are working!

Six Bass and a Bluegill This Round

Fished Bethany this evening.  Caught six Bass and one Bluegill this round.  Three Bass went for Senkos, one Bass and a Bluegill went for a Purple Damsel Fly, and two Bass went for the Guadalupana!  Missed others that came off the hook while bringing them in; regardless, was another fun time on a really nice evening.  No action footage this time; just footage of fish.

Three Bass at One Pond, then One More at Bethany

Fished the morning bite at the pond behind In-N-Out Burger.  Caught three working a weightless Senko slowly.  Then, stopped at Bethany afterwards; caught one more.  Fun stuff... four Bass for this morning's round!

One Bass at Lunch, and then Four Bass Before Dinner!

Fished Bethany at Lunch and caught a Bass on a Spinnerbait.  Could not leave it at one, so before Dinner, stopped at Cabelas to pickup more Senkos and hooks, and then fished the pond behind In-N-Out Burger (also known as Eagle Lake).  Slower action with four Bass caught and released before dinner!  Having issues with loading the video onto Blogger.  Here is a link to Today's Video.
