One-Lure Challenge Continues: First Fish of the Day on a Fire Tiger Roostertail

One-Lure Challenge Continues

Fire Tiger Roostertail. First fish of the day. It’s a bass.

What this clip was about

The one-lure pond challenge kept going, and I stayed locked on the Fire Tiger Roostertail inline spinner. Same rule. Same lure. In short order the first fish of the day was on — a bass.

First Fish, Same Spinner

I went back to the pond with the challenge still in play. One lure. No switching. The Fire Tiger Roostertail had already earned the job, so I put it back in the water and fished it like I meant it.

It did not take long. First bite of the day, and it was a bass. That is the kind of start that settles the nerves. The lure still looks right. The fish are still around. The pattern did not leave with the last trip.

One-lure days are simple on purpose. You learn faster when you stop digging in the box and start paying attention to the retrieve, the bank, and that first fish that tells you the plan is working.

Rooster Tail Showcase

The Fire Tiger Roostertail stayed on for the one-lure challenge and produced the first fish of the day — a bass. Small, flashy, and still getting bit.
