Bass on 4lb Test Mono
More confidence on the KastKing Kestrel BFS
What this clip was about
Bass on 4lbs Test Mono. More fun ultralight fishing. This round I try the 4lbs Trilene mono on the Kastking Kestrel BFS Reel. So far, I am liking it. Feel that I am less likely to lose a bigger fish compared to the 2lbs mono I was using earlier.
Finding the Right Balance on Light Tackle
Ultralight and BFS fishing keeps getting more fun the more I experiment with it.
This round I spooled up the KastKing Kestrel BFS reel with 4lb Trilene mono. I had been running 2lb earlier and wanted to see how the step up felt. I managed a bass and so far I’m liking the 4lb. There’s still plenty of sensitivity and the fight is exciting, but I feel like I’m less likely to lose a bigger fish if one shows up and gets aggressive.
Light tackle is all about the experience, and finding that balance between fun and a little extra security is part of the process. The Kestrel continues to handle these light lines well, and the 4lb mono is giving me more confidence without taking away from the ultralight feel.
See you on the water.
