Fished Bethany this evening. Had a short while before the sunset; managed to catch several Bass, missed a couple of Bass, and then hooked into a nice Catfish! All went for a crankbait!

Went with a Crankbait this round. Caught one Bass and missed another, else it was slow go. Better to stick with Inline Spinners right now to mimic the baitfish the Bass are feeding on. Still a fun time, especially with the cooler temps!
Things started out slow; then a cold front arrived and got things going. Caught seven Bass using a Rip and Rap Rapala. Had issues getting video but made do and was able to put a short video clip together. Fun stuff!
Fished Bethany Creek. Missed one, then caught one. Went down the road to Bethany Lakes. Caught more Bass, lost others. Total for the day was six Bass. All on the Rip and Rap Rapala!
More fishing at Bethany; caught four Bass this time! Used the Rip and Rap Rapala. Slow action, might have been the recent cold front. Regardless, had a fun time catching them!
Went back out to fish this Thanksgiving!. Went to Bethany this time; had fun earlier this morning catching Bass at Plano East Senior High School. Hoping for more fun - caught three Bass, one White Bass, and a Catfish on a Rip and Rap Rapala. Really like crankbaits this time of year; less vegetation to foul hooks and can cover more area quickly when short on time!
Decided to fish Plano East Senior High School's pond this morning. Went with the Rip and Rap Rapala crankbait and caught five Bass and a little Bluegill. Largest went ~15"-16" in size. Fun stuff for a Thanksgiving morning!
Went with a Crankbait this evening and fished Bethany. Missed two strikes, and then hooked (foul hooked) a large Koi. Ended up with a big fish scale. Kept fishing for a while and managed to land two Bass. Not Bruisers but still beats working!
Decided to fish the morning knowing Halloween is tonight. Fished Bethany using our Rip and Rap Rapala. Ended up catching five Bass and losing a nice one that struck but came off soon after. Fun stuff!
Went with a Rip and Rap Rapala Crankbait that we picked up from Cabelas. Fished Bethany Creek pond - pond that we had not fished in a while. Caught a White Bass and a little Bass. Then, moved on to Bethany Lakes and managed four more Bass!
Cannot help but fish again this morning. Braved the cold temps and fished the same crankbait (Rapala Clack and Rap) we used yesterday at Plano East Senior High School. This time went to Stoney Hollow Park in Plano. Had not fished it in awhile. Glad to see the Bass were biting somewhat. Lucked out with four Bass this round; all struck near the weed line that parallels the bank.
Cold front arrived and drop the temps to the 30's. Decided to try a crankbait at Plano East Senior High School's Catch and Release Pond! Missed the first strike - a Bass, then caught four Bass. Fun stuff on a cold morning!
Cold front arrived. Went for a quick trip to Bethany's Lower Pond. Fished with Crankbaits and caught one Bass and lost another. Have to dress warmer next time and stay longer. Till then, better luck next round!
Quick trip to the Back Pond at Bethany. Caught two Bass using our favorite Crankbait. Not enough light to video tape the second Bass; posted a picture at the end. No Bruisers but still fun!
Quick trip to Bethany this evening. Grabbed the first rod that was rigged and ran out the door... turned out the first rod we grabbed was the Baitcasting Rod that had the Crankbait we like. Fished for about 45 minutes. Had a strike but lost it soon after setting the hook, not sure what it was but we suspect it was a Bass. Then, had a Catfish chase the lure; even got some video of it! Looked like a Bruiser. Finally, hooked and landed a Bass, then soon after called it a trip!
Late start but finally able to break away from work, making it to Bethany just before it was getting dark. Used the same Crankbait we picked up the other day from Cabelas and fished the Lower Pond. Caught three Bass. No Bruisers but there is always a next time,... we hope!
