Caught Two Bass with the Thief Fishing Fly!

GoPro Mobile Fishing Livestream at a local pond fishing the Thief pattern... one I tied at the Dallas Fly Fishers Fly Tying Class at Cabelas earlier this week!

Caught two Bass... one went almost 20 inches in length, other was not so big. Both were fun to catch on the 2wt Fiberglass CGR Fly Rod!

Bass one was caught in the first 5 minutes of the stream. Second in was caught in the last 5 minutes.

Do check the livestream out!

Fishing Lake Glenn #gopro #livestream #baitfinesse

Another in the GoPro Mobile Fishing Livestream Series! This one has me at Lake Glenn in Arlington, Texas!

Fishing with an Ultralight Baitcaster Combo - Shimano Scorpion 17 BFS-XG Reel, Bass Pro Shops MicroLite Fiberglass Rod, and 4lbs Stren and using Z-Man Micro Finesse Ned Rig in Green Pumpkin and a 1/15oz Jig Head.

Bait Finesse gear cast the rig easily save for the windy conditions that had me clearing a backlash or two.

Managed several Bass, no Bruisers but lots of fun on the ultralight gear!

Here is a shorter, edited version of the GoPro Mobile Fishing Livestream!

Livestreaming Updates - Introducing Three Series

Thanks for checking in on the Mobile Fisherman!

In partnership with our YouTube Channel @coaffieldteam, we introduce three livestreaming series that take viewers with us when we are doing fishing related things!

The three livestreams are:

  • Let's Talks Fishing Livestream - Provides fishing updates streamed from our desktop in a Q&A presentation style. Your host starts the update with a few quick happenings related to fishing, and then opens the session to questions and comments from viewers!
  • Out and About Fishing Livestream - Provides fishing updates live and onsite streamed either from our mobile phones or using the ATEM Switcher. It's about fishing but we are not fishing. Instead, your host provides event updates like TRWD Flyfest and the Texas Fly Fishing and Brew Festival as well as onsite happenings all related to fishing.
  • GoPro Mobile Fishing Livestream - More fishing updates but from a first person POV while your host fishing. It includes mistakes and all, no editing... just turn on the GoPro and go fishing!

Another GoPro Livestream But.... Struck Out. Great Ultralight Baitcasting Practice at Least!

Another GoPro Livestream. This one shows that fishing is not catching.... struck out but did get some great casting practice with the KastKing Zephyr BFS with reel clicker and BPS MicroLite Rod.

I started out fishing the Main Pond and worked my way around to the drainage culvert, then moved to the Back Pond. Although no bites, I did note several Bass beds near the banks.

I continued to work the Back Pond and then the Main Pond's North side. No hits either.

I did notice the rod and reel combo casted much better when spooled with 4lbs mono compared to 8lbs mono. Easier to cast and more distance, too.

I also limited the line amount, spooling it with 66 turns of the handle. This makes for a lighter spool that spins faster than a fully spooled reel.

Subsequenly, the KastKing tends to cast better with less line!
