Bethany Lakes: April 12, 2007
Tried the White Foam Rubber Spider Variant on the lower pond at Bethany Lakes. Caught 8 Bluegills with the Variant. Sounds like the new fly is a winner!
Method: Fly-fishing
Lure: White Foam Rubber Spider Variant
Catch: 8 Bluegills

Allen Station Creek: April 12, 2007
Anxious to try out the White Foam Rubber Spider Variant, I fished the creek that runs along Allen Station Park at lunch time. The water was low, less than a foot deep, under the Exchange Parkway Bridge. Regardless, I caught a small Sunfish. First fish caught using the White Foam Rubber Spider Variant!
Method: Fly-fishing
Lure: White Foam Rubber Spider Variant
Catch: 1 Sunfish
White Foam Rubber Spider Replacement
Since I lost my White Foam Rubber Spider yesterday, I decided to make a variant of my own. Will let everyone know how good it works. I added a little color and flash in hopes the fish will go wild when they see it (illustration in the sidebar).
We'll see!
Bethany Lakes: April 11, 2007
Fished the lower pond at Bethany Lakes. Beautiful day with a moderate wind. Caught multiple Bluegills, several Sunfish, and one Bass. The lure of the day was the White Foam Rubber Spider. All fish were caught with the Spider; save for two fish caught with the Black and Red Streamer.
Method: Fly-Fishing
Lures: White Foam Rubber Spider, Grasshopper Dryfly, Black and Red Streamer
Catch: 20+ Bluegill, 2 Sunfish, 1 Bass (18")
Note: Lost a bigger bass using the White Foam Rubber Spider; ended up losing the fly when the line broke. Also, one Sunfish was 10 inches in length.
Bethany Lakes: April 8, 2007
Fished the upper and lower pond at Bethany Lakes. Cloudy day but better than Friday's weather. Had a few strikes on the upper pond, and then moved on to the lower pond. Lower pond proved the better spot. Caught Bluegills with the Bass still choosing to look rather than strike.
Method: Fly-Fishing
Lures: Black Foam Rubber Spider, White Foam Rubber Spider, Grasshopper Dryfly, Black and Red Streamer
Catch: 30+ Bluegill
Bethany Lakes: April 6, 2007
Fished the upper pond at Bethany Lakes. Cold and windy but was able to catch a Bluegill and a small Bass on a Black Foam Rubber Spider. Had limited success the weeks before the front moved in. Mainly bluegills with bass hitting periodically and a lot more choosing to look rather than strike.
Method: Fly-Fishing
Lure: Black Foam Rubber Spider
Catch: 1 Bluegill and 1 small Bass
