Fished Bethany Lakes main, upper, canal, and back ponds. Used Rubber Spiders, Wooly Worms, and a Glo-Bug to catch Bluegill and Sunfish. The Bass remain finicky but should pick-up as the spawn ends.
Method: Fly-fishing
Lures: Black Rubber Spider, Wooly Worms, and Chartreuse Glo-Bug
Catch: Multiple Bluegill and Sunfish
Fished Bethany Lakes upper pond again. No hook-ups but a lot of Bass were eying my lure. Just could not get them to make one final strike. Also, noticed two Oscars swimming along the bank eating vegetation. Someone must have let them go from their aquarium.
Method: Fly-fishing
Lures: Gray and Brown Rabbit Fur Minnow Variant and a Red and White Balsa Minnow
Catch: None to report
Fished Bethany Lakes upper pond. Many strikes but no hook-ups. Did see a fisherman catch a large Bass. Did not get any measurements but it looked like a 3-pounder.
Method: Fly-fishing
Lure: Lefty Deceiver Variant
Catch: None to report
Took a break from fishing the local city lakes and ponds. I posted a picture of it in the sidebar. It is a modified Lefty Deceiver Pattern. I hope it will get the big Bass to bite. More to come!
