Quick Trips - August 9, 2008

Checked out a small pond at Shawnee Park in Plano. Had a couple of strikes on a Streamer but did not connect. Others fishing the morning noted catches of Bluegill. Will have to try again, promising location with cover and a fountain keeping the pond well aerated.

Went down the road to Harrington Park and fished the creek. Caught a number of Sunfish and observed several Carp laying low in the water.

Headed back to Allen and sampled the creek that runs under Exchange Parkway and along Watters Creek Running Trail. Creek by Towne Lake, McKinney - August 8, 2008

Fished the creek by Towne Lake in McKinney. Caught Bluegill/Sunfish flyfishing various fishing flies. Did see several gar cruising along the creek. Pictures of the Bluegill/Sunfish posted below. Bethany Lakes' Back Pond - August 7, 2008

Returned to Bethany Lakes to fish the Back Pond for Bass. A lot of activity but did not catch any Bass. Did catch a few Bluegill flyfishing a Foam Rubber Spider Variant. Pictures posted below. Bethany Ridge Park Pond - August 4, 2008

Fished Bethany Ridge Park Pond in the late afternoon/early evening. Caught Sunfish and Bluegill and two small Bass (8" and 9.5" in size) flyfishing a Foam Rubber Spider Variant. No luck at Bethany Creek, One Bass at Bethany Lakes.

Fished Bethany Creek Pond with no luck. Went down the road to Bethany Lakes in hopes of Bass. Caught one small (11" in size) Bass in the Back Pond flyfishing an Olive Wooly Bugger. Picture posted below.

While running errands stopped by Suncreek Park Pond this afternoon to checkout the fishing. Caught Sunfish flyfishing a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph. Pictures posted below.

Catfish at Bethany Ridge and Bethany Lakes - August 1, 2008

Fished Bethany Ridge Park Pond and caught small Catfish. Used Bread Bait and fished from the pier that overlooks the pond. Went across the street to fish Bethany Lakes' Main Pond. Caught larger Catfish ranging from 15" to 23" in size using Bread Bait. Pictures posted below.

Harrington Park Creek - July 31, 2008

Tried a creek by Harrington Park in Plano in the early evening. Caught small Catfish and Sunfish using Bread Bait. Did see a couple of Carp but they were not interested. Switched to a flyrod and caught several Sunfish on a Red and White Zonker. Had several hits from small Bass but did not land any. Pictures posted below.

Celebration Park East Pond - July 30, 2008

Fished Celebration Park's East Pond for Catfish. Caught four Catfish ranging from 9" to 12" in size. Water level has dropped since our last trip to the East Pond. And, did not hook any of the larger Catfish. Still promising. Pictures posted below.
