Wooly Spider Fishing Fly
Due to weather concerns was not able to fish today. Redirected efforts to tying fishing flies. Decided to combine a Wooly Bugger and Foam Rubber Spider. Pictures posted below. Calling it a Wooly Spider! Will post results next outing.

Bethany Lakes' Back Pond - September 11, 2008
Fished Bethany Lakes' Back Pond this evening. Caught Bluegill/Sunfish and four Bass flyfishing. Used a Prince Nymph and a Yellow Foam Rubber Spider Variant with most taken on the Spider. Pictures posted below.
Three of the four Bass were caught at dusk on a Spider twitched slowly and slightly below the water surface.

Celebration Park's North Pond - September 10, 2008
Made a quick trip to Celebration Park's North Pond this morning. Caught small Bluegill/Sunfish flyfishing a White Foam Rubber Spider Variant. Sampling of today's catch posted below. Small but scrappy and still fun to catch.

Celebration Park's East Pond - September 9, 2008
Fished Celebration Park's East Pond this evening to checkout the Catfish. Caught several Catfish and a small Bluegill on Bread. Largest Catfish went 20" in size, a couple went about 14" in size, all others ranged from 8" to 10" in size. Pictures posted below.

Celebration Park - September 8, 2008
Checked out Celebration Park today, making a quick trip at Lunch to flyfish the North Pond. Caught small Bluegill/Sunfish using a Green Foam Rubber Spider Variant. Sampling of today's catch posted below. North Pond still a sure bet for fishing with the Kids.

Bethany Lakes - September 7, 2008
Fished Bethany Lakes this morning flyfishing the Lower, Upper, and Main Ponds. Cool morning made for a comfortable outing.
Caught small Bluegill/Sunfish and four Bass flyfishing a Foam Rubber Spider Variant. Bass ranged from 3" to 13.5" in size. Pictures posted below.
Had more strikes but was unable to set the hook or lost them while bringing them in to the bank. Most fish were caught within 10 feet of the shoreline.

Unusual Catch in Plano - September 6, 2008
Received a fishing report from one of our readers of an unusual catch. The fish posted below was caught while fishing a pond in Plano Saturday morning. The fish weighed 1.2 lbs and was caught on light tackle using a boile for bait. Hats off to our Reader in Plano for reporting the unusual catch!

Prince Nymph Variant @ Bethany Lakes - September 3, 2008
Fished Bethany Lakes again this evening flyfishing the Lower Pond. Windy and overcast made for fun when casting into the wind. Managed to catch small Sunfish on a Prince Nymph Variant. Pictures posted below.

Bethany Lakes - September 1, 2008
Back to Bethany Lakes in Allen. Made a quick trip this evening flyfishing the Lower Pond. Tried an Olive Wooly Bugger without success; switched to a White Foam Rubber Spider Variant and caught one Bass and three Bluegill/Sunfish. Pictures posted below.

LLELA - August 31, 2008
Fished Lake Lewisville Ecological Learning Area (LLELA) this morning. Good current but still wadeable - see picture below.
Had several strikes flyfishing a streamer but no hook-ups. Did observe a few baitfishermen catching Catfish, else slow action.
