2 Sunfish and then a Bethany Lakes Bruiser Bluegill!

Fished Bethany Lakes this morning. Front has things colder and wetter with a slight slowdown in the action. Was able to catch two Sunfish on a Prince Nymph fishing fly, and then landed a Bruiser Bluegill on a Bead Head Olive Wooley Bugger. Measured 10.25" in size. Picture below was taken at a slight angle but close inspection confirmed the length. Personal best Bluegill; going to submit to the COAF Leader Board!

Bethany Lakes this Morning, 4 Bass On a Wooley Bugger!

Opted to fish Bethany Lakes this morning.  Caught 4 Bass on a Wooley Bugger.  Did lose another one that may have gone 12"-13".  Else, largest of the 4 Bass was only 11" in size.

Fun way to start a Friday and ring in the Weekend!

Kroger Park Outing (aka Bethany Ridge Park)

Fished Kroger Park in Allen.  Caught 4 little Bass on Wooley Buggers.  Did lose another and observed some Bruisers working the shallows... none were interested in the fishing fly!  Here is a short video clip.

Bluegill and Sunfish at Bethany Lakes

Decided to fish Bethany Lakes this evening for a chance at Bass.  No luck on Bass but did catch a few Bluegill and Sunfish.  Largest was a Bluegill that went 8" in size!  Here is a short video clip of today's outing....  All were caught on Olive Wooley Buggers on a steady retrieve.

Bass and a Bruiser Bluegill

Stopped by Bethany Lakes this afternoon to checkout the action in the Upper Pond ("horseshoe-shaped"). Bass and Bluegill were active in the shallows. Managed to land one Bass and a Bruiser Bluegill that went about 8.5" in size! Fun, fun, fun....

14 Bass and 5 Bluegill at Stoney Hollow Park This Morning

Fished Stoney Hollow Park in Plano this morning. Bite was slow at first, picked up after a half-hour, then stayed steady until 10:30AM. Caught 14 Bass and 5 Bluegill. Largest Bass went about 13" and largest Bluegill went 8". No Bruiser Bass but these guys kept things interesting.

Used Olive Wooley Buggers, Olive Leeches, and a Crappie Jig Variant. Crappie Jig Variant seemed to be the hot fishing fly this round!

Bass and a Bluegill at Bethany Ridge Park

Fished Bethany Ridge Park this evening.  Really windy with some strong gusts to make matters worse.  Tough to cast with flyfishing gear but did manage to get a line out.  Caught three Bass and a Bluegill on Olive Wooley Buggers.  Largest Bass was ~12" in size; smallest Bass was just over 4" in size.  Did hook and lose three others.  Two fought like the 12" Bass, so did not expect them to be of bragging size.  One felt bigger - a possible Bruiser lurking....!

Two Bass But Lost a Bruiser!

Caught two Bass today at Bethany Lakes.  But, lost a Bruiser right after the hookset.  Line broke soon after making a 10 yard run.  Wondering if it was as big as the 7 Pounder caught in February.  Oh well, better luck next round!
