Field Team Limited Out... Trout Meet Their Waterloo at Waterloo (Denison)

Field Team limited out this afternoon at Waterloo Park in Denison! Took less than 45" to catch them. Action was fast and steady. Caught all on Pink Powerbait. Fishing Buddy fished with light Spinning Gear; opted to try the Bamboo Stake Rod. Lotta fun... and good eating, too!

No Trout This Trip, But It Was a Nice Sunset!

A few fishermen were catching them on bait at Bethany Lakes this evening.  Decided to try fishing flies and struck out even though they were feeding readily on the surface. Tried Wooley Buggers, Nymphs, and Dry Flies without a hit. Better luck next round... No Trout this trip, but it was a nice sunset!

Bite Slowed Down.... Caught Three Trout and a Catfish!

Took a Fishing Buddy to Bethany Lakes in hopes of a limit for him this evening.  No go... bite started out well but slowed considerably after dark.  Buddy caught three Trout on Chartreuse Powerbait and a Catfish on Corn before it got dark.  Soon after, had zero strikes....  Hoping the weather change and the warmer temps were the cause of the slow down and not from Cormorant cleaning out the pond.

Made it back to Bethany Lakes this evening.  The bite earlier was slow with one Trout caught on a Silver Super Duper.  Tonight it picked up with three Trout caught on Chartreuse Powerbait and one Trout on Corn in about 45"!

Another fisherman also caught one on Powerbait... Fluorescent Green with Garlic flavoring.  See the biggest Trout in the picture below.

So far, Powerbait remains the "go to" bait but am seeing a number of Trout with Corn in their stomachs when cleaning them.

One On A Silver Super Duper.... At Bethany Today.

Quick trip to Bethany at lunch today.  Went with a Gold Super Duper and a Gold Kastmaster without a strike.  Switched to a Silver Super Duper and caught one Trout.... Action was slow with a few Trout being taken.  Hope it picks up later in the evening!

Powerbait Continues to Produce Trout at Bethany Lakes

Fished Bethany Lakes after dark... brought Corn but decided to go with Powerbait.  Action was steady for about an hour, and then slowed the second hour. Managed to catch a limit of Trout - three on Pink and two on Chartreuse.  Also, lost one that went for Chartreuse while landing it. Fun stuff....!

When cleaning the Trout afterwards, did notice that several Trout had gorged on Corn!  Good to know the Trout are feeding on Corn.  Has been tough finding Powerbait.  Still using last year's stock.

Not Just Catching Trout....!

Been asked by Readers on how we prepare our Trout for the table.  For the most part, we like to keep things simple... because we prefer to spend our time fishing.  Luckily, Trout are easy to clean and there are numerous ways to cook them.

In our case we opt to pan fry the Trout and use basic ingredients - Salt, Pepper, and Season Salt.  We added a section to our "Texas Rainbow Trout Fishing: Top 5 Lures and Baits for Community Lakes" article that describes simple steps on how we prepare our Trout for the table.  Link to article.

Not Just Catching Trout....!

Below Freezing Temps But Trout Action Was Good!

Despite the low temps and windy conditions this morning, was able to pull in another limit at Bethany Lakes!  Went with Powerbait again.  Caught two on Orange, two on Chartreuse, and one on Pink!  Did catch and lose a Trout using Pink.  Overall, Powerbait remains a consistent producer.

Did see others catching them on Bread and Corn.  Also, noticed while clean the Trout that a few had Corn in their stomachs.  Fun stuff... just remember that there is a 5 Trout Limit and the Game Warden does stop by.

Limited Out On Trout At Bethany Lakes This Evening.

Made it to Bethany Lakes this evening. Limited out using Powerbait in Orange and in Pink! Stayed a little longer afterwards to share some pointers with a fellow fisherman who caught three Trout.

Action was steady with limits being taken! Six Trout were caught using Orange and two were caught using Pink!

Processed and In The Freezer

Been on the road this past week.  Was not able to make the Season Split Opener....!  Did get a call from the Butcher.  Deer taken last week has been processed.  Put a big dent in the freezer.  Ready to enjoy some great tasting meals.
