4 Bass and 5 Sunfish On The Purple Damsel Fly!
Stopped by Auburn Springs (South) to test the waters using the Tenkara Rod. Worked the bank and the feeder creek; caught and released 4 Bass and 5 Sunfish. Largest Bass went 16" in size! Fun stuff, even after losing a larger Bass than the 16 incher! Still liking the Tenkara Rod and the ability to work the pond banks and small feeder creeks.

Late Start,... Gets Two Sunfish and Bass on the Purple Damsel Fly
Was a late start fishing this evening. No worries, it's still fishing! Took the fly rod to Bethany Lakes and worked the Main Pond with little success.
Bass were chasing the fishing fly but would not close the deal and strike allowing for a hookset! Frustrating to see them chasing the fly without a strike.
Moved to the Canal and caught two Sunfish without delay. Then, played around by the Waterfall and had a few light nibbles that finally resulted in a Bass hooked and landed!

Warmer Temps By This Afternoon, Decided to Fish Bethany This Evening
Cold front arrived yesterday. Temps were cold this morning but by afternoon warmer temps were had. Decided to fish Bethany this evening after work and see what the action was like.
Took the Tenkara Rod to keep things simple,.... Had no problem catching two Bass and four Sunfish. Did lose a couple of Bass that we estimated at two pounds! Should have brought a net!

Only Two Bass This Round!
Cold front arrived last night along with a storm. Bite slowed down compared to the last few days and the water was higher and murky. Ended up catching two little Bass on a slowly retrieved Purple Damsel Fly! Posted a short video of today's action below:

12 Bass and 2 Bluegill Taken On Damsel Flies and Tenkara Rod!
Could not let yesterday's Goldfish on a Tenkara Rod go unanswered. Went to the local catch and release pond that we hit last week and braved the winds! It was tough fishing but managed to work the fishing flies near the surface and maintain a steady retrieve with the Tenkara Rod. Ended the outing with twelve Bass and two Bluegill caught and released. Short video clip posted below.

Harrington Park and then Haggard Park Today
While running errands stopped at the creek by Harrington Park and caught four fish. Then, went on to Haggard Park to flex the Tenkara Rod; ended up catching a Goldfish. Used Damsel Flies at both places. Made video clips as well!

Damsel Flies Continue to Produce!
Fished a local catch and release pond again to try out the Damsel Flies we tied to replace the ones lost the other day. Action was steady with 4 Bluegill and 6 Bass caught and released. Bass were little but two of the Bluegill went about 8" in size!

Another Round Fishing a Local Pond, 5 Bluegill and 1 Little Bass
Went to a local fishing pond for another round of fishing. Things started out okay with a decent Bass striking the Purple Damsel Fly. However, a line break ends the fight and the Bass getting away.
Afterwards, caught mainly Bluegill and one little Bass. Posted a short video of the outing below. Check it out when you get chance!

6 Bluegill and 7 Bass On Damsel Flies!
New fishing spot turned out to be a good thing. Passed this one by many times and have been meaning to fish it for a couple of years. Finally checked it out yesterday evening. Noting the sign indicated catch and release only, pond looked promising!
Was going to fish topwater with the Deer Hair Bug. But, since the cool front dropped temps into the 50's, tied on a Damsel Fly instead. Soon after started catching fish; caught 6 Bluegill and 7 Bass by the end of the trip.
Largest Bluegill went about 8" in size; largest Bass went about 15" or 16" in size. All were caught on Damsel Flies! Had a great time catching (and releasing) them!

Deer Hair Bug Continues to Produce,...!
Was able to tie another Deer Hair Bug. Fished it at Kroger Park and caught a little Bass and then lost two others. Did observe catching Bass as well! Good to know the Bass are actively taking lures.
Moved on to Bethany Lakes and caught three Bass but lost the Deer Hair Bug again. Ended the trip soon after.
Going to tie another one tonight to replace today's loss! Really like the Deer Hair Bug; need to keep this pattern in the fly box!
