Tenkara Fishing at Bethany Lakes Makes Good,...

Welcome! Tenkara Fishing at Bethany Lakes makes good again with another fun trip catching and releasing Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish. Largest Bass went about 14" or 15" in length.

Afterwards, loaded up on Bread and Dough Bait and fished Glendover for Catfish. Caught three. Bite was slower and Catfish were not as big compared to the day before!

Caught and Released a Few Catfish at Glendover!

Went to Glendover Park with JB11 for a go at the Catfish.  Brought Bread and the Homemade Dough Bait.  Action was steady on both baits.  Caught and released 10 Catfish ranging from 16" to 20" in size with the majority going 18"-19"....  Fun stuff!

Caught and Released a Snapping Turtle and Two Catfish!

Fished Bethany Lakes in the early evening.  Things started out slow with the main activity being Ducks!  Had a few nibbles but nothing solid.  Then, got a nice strike that turned out to be a Snapping Turtle!  More nibbles and missed hooksets, then hooked and landed a Bruiser Catfish that went 20.5" in size. Released it, and then soon after caught a smaller Catfish.  Closed out the trip watching more Ducks (that is Ducklings); posted the Bruiser on the Team's Leader Board!

Catfish Still Biting at Bethany Lakes,....

Been trying out the Dough Bait recipe; decided on Bethany Lakes in hopes of catching more than one like we did the other day.  Good thing,... caught several Catfish three largest went 15", 18", and 19" in size!  Fun stuff,... and given the 15" minimum requirement was able to post them on the COAF Fishing Leader Board for 2011!

Back to Celebration Park after the Storm Passed!

Went back to the East Pond later this evening after the thunderstorm passed.  Caught five Bullhead on the Homemade Doughbait, and then a 16" Catfish on Bread well after dark!

Had a nice one on but lost it while bringing it in, and then had another that wrapped the line around a snag.  Pulled hard and brought the snag out of the water; was someone's kite!

Fun stuff....

Season's Over But Still Nice To Observe...

Was out this afternoon and noticed a couple of Ducks hanging out at a community lake! Look like Gadwall,... maybe they will hang around till the Season starts up again!

Celebartion Park East Pond Gets Two Bullheads on Bread!

Stopped by the East Pond at Celebration Park at Lunch today.  Good thing as the thunderstorms are rolling in as we update this post!

Went with plain White Bread for this quick trip.  Had several bites and misses that looked to be decent size Catfish.  Ended the 30" outing with two Bullheads!

Afternoon Quick Trips Were Not Quick Trips!

Went back out again to brave the windy conditions and do more "field testing" of the Homemade Dough Bait.  Any excuse to justify fishing works for us!

Tried Bethany Lakes and fished the Dough Bait under a Float as well as Freeline.  Had more hits while using the Float; just could not make the hookset.  After awhile, was able to hook and land a Catfish that went about 17" in size.

Then, went to Celebration Park and had fun catching more Catfish and Bullheads!  No Bruisers with the Catfish going about 15" in size!  Fun stuff,....

Morning Quick Trips Produce a Few Fish!

Made a couple of quick trips - Bethany Lakes and Celebration Park.  Caught one little Bass on an Olive Crawdad using theTenkara Rod at Bethany, and then fished with Homemade Dough Bait at the East Pond in Celebration Park.

Caught as well as lost a few fish at Celebration Park.  But, did manage to land three Catfish/Bullheads.  Largest fish was a Catfish that went just under 18" in size!

PS:  Homemade Dough Bait recipe we used is posted on our partner Squidoo Lens: Homemade Dough Bait!  Give it a try when you get a chance.

20+ Bluegill Flyfishing At Glendover Park,... and a Little Bass!

Fished Glendover Pond.  Been awhile since we fished the pond.  Caught mainly Bluegill but did get a little Bass.  Bluegill were hitting on Dry Flies, Foam Rubber Spiders, and Wooley Buggers.  Bass was caught on an Olive Crawdad.  Do know there are some Bruisers lurking in the pond but none caught this round.  Also, while there, observed several nice looking Catfish caught using Bread for bait!
