Bethany At Lunch Today

Fished Bethany at lunch time today!  Really hot weather, glad the Bass were cooperating.  Caught four but only able to take a picture of three.  One flopped back in the water soon after landing it.  Used a different Ultralight Rod - same one used for Trout Fishing, just changed out the line with Spiderwire and then used a Rooster Tail that had a chartreuse blade.

Late Start... Rooster Tail Continues to Produce!

Late start this evening but made it to Bethany Lakes.  Went with the Ultralight Gear again and tied on a larger sized Rooster Tail.  Gained more distance, had a number of strikes, landed a few, and hooked but lost a few more.

Sidetracked by Catfish at Bethany!

Headed out to Bethany after work this evening.  Was targeting Bass but was sidetracked by Catfish feeding on Bread that someone had left for the Ducks!  Saw some Bruisers in the shallows.  So baited up a hook with Bread and caught a few Catfish. Largest went about 18" in size!

Bethany Still Going Strong!

Fished Bethany again this evening. Had steady strikes on the Chartreuse Rooster Tail. Did catch one little Bass on the Curly Tail Roadrunner. Also, met a fellow Metal Detector Enthusiast and Fisherman, who was catching Bass on Jigs. Looks like Jigs continue to produce as well!

Bass in the first row, third from left was caught on a Curly Tail Roadrunner.  Bass in the second row, second from left was caught on a Jig by the Metal Detector Enthusiast/Fisherman

Chartreuse Rooster Tail Keeps On Catching!

Another evening outing to Bethany Lakes. Being Monday, had music from the Summer Series Concert playing in the background. Also, had a Memorial Day fireworks display at the end of the concert. A lot of people were enjoying the Concert. Also, a lot fishermen were working the ponds, including this one.

Was able to restock the tackle box with Roadrunners and Tube Jigs from Cabelas. Also, switched out the fishing line on the Ultralight. Went from 4 lbs Stren Monofilament to 15 lbs Spiderwire Line (4 lbs diameter); want to be ready for that Bruiser!

However, no Bruisers this round. Just the usual suspects. All of which were caught on the Chartreuse Rooster Tail!

Which One Does Not Belong...?

Morning trip to Bethany Lakes.  Started out with Tandem Rigged Jigs.  Lost the rig to a Bruiser.  Tied on the last Curly Tail Roadrunner, caught more fish then lost it to a snag.  Tied on the last Marabou Roadrunner, caught more fish but had to retire it as the feathers were down to nothing.  Switched to a Chartreuse Rooster Tail and had a fun time catching more fish.  Caught a number of fish - mainly Bass.  No Bruisers landed; caught fish ranging from little Fingerlings (7" in size) to about 14" in size!  Great start for a Memorial Day!

PS: Which one does not belong?

Could Not Stay Away From Fishing

Could not stay away from fishing; went back to Bethany Lakes this evening.  Good thing because the fish were cooperating.  Ultralight Gear and Jigs continued to work.  Even caught a little Crappie!

To the Village, then to Bethany Lakes.

Checked out the Catch and Release Pond by the Village (near In and Out Burger). Brought Ultralight Gear and the Tandem Rigged Jigs. Was a tough outing; windy conditions and murky water. Did manage to catch two little Bass.

Went on to Bethany Lakes and fished the Lower Pond, Main Pond, and Back Pond. Caught more Bass but ended up losing the Tandem Rigged Jigs to a "Tree Fish"!

One lesson learned though... really like the Stren Knot when setting up Tandem Rigged Jigs. Had several line breaks but none caused by the Stren Knot failing!

More Fun at Bethany Lakes with Jigs!

Went back to Bethany this evening for more fishing with Ultralight Gear and Jigs.  Had to restock Roadrunner Jigs and Tube Jigs after losing the last one in the tackle box this morning to a snag.  Good news,... tandem rigged Tube and Roadrunner Jigs continued to produce this evening with more Bass, Panfish and even another Catfish caught and released!

Morning Outing To Bethany Gets More Fish On Ultralight Gear and Jigs!

Fished Bethany Lakes this morning to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend!  Fish cooperated with Bass, Panfish, and a Catfish caught all on Jigs - Tube Jig, Curly Tail Roadrunner, or Marabou Roadrunner.  Had a nice fight with the Catfish hitting the Curly Tail Roadrunner.  Later, lost a Bruiser Bass on the Marabou Roadrunner; hooked him, fought him briefly, and then lost him when the hook came off.  Oh well, better luck next round!
