Two Bass and a Tree Fish on Spinnerbaits!

Late start this evening; made it to Bethany.  Brought bait casting gear and one lure - a Spinnerbait.  One change though... added a stinger hook!  It did make a difference.  Caught two Bass, missed several others, and then lost the lure to a Tree Fish.  Oh well, fun stuff still!

Nine Fish On Inline Spinners This Round

Fished Bethany this evening.  Went with inline spinners starting out with a Rooster Tail.  Caught one Bluegill and missed several Bass.  Switched to the Wooley Rooster Martin and caught more Bass and two Catfish.  Fish count this round:  One Bluegill, six Bass, and two Catfish. Used Ultralight Gear and four pound test, making the fish feel like Bruisers... fun stuff!

Quick Trip at Lunch

Had some time today to break away and go for a quick trip at Lunch.  Brought the fly rod and a Damsel Fly.  Ended up catching three little fish - a Bass and two Sunfish.  Scrappy fighters and still fun to catch!

Fished This Morning, But...

Fished this morning at Bethany.  Caught seven Bass on a Rooster Tail but had to call the trip short as we had some car issues.... ended up needing to get it towed to a local garage.  No worries... still fun fishing while waiting for the tow truck to arrive!

Lake Level Was Low... Went with a Guided Hunt.

Checked out Lake Lavon and noted the water level was low... too low for the Jon Boat.  May try later with a Kayak or possibly try a walk-in hunt.  Still itching to get the Season started and having missed opening weekend, decided on a guided hunt on private land.  Good thing... ended up with a limit of Blue Winged Teal!

Missed Opening Weekend But....

Missed Opening Weekend for Early Teal Season.  But, back in the swing and hope to make it out this weekend.  Going light since the old Jon Boat still needs painting.  Regardless, cool temps should make the morning hunts interesting!

Hula Popper Gets a Bite Or Two This Evening!

After a late start, made it out to Bethany this evening.  Went with Baitcasting Gear and a Hula Popper.  Fished it fast with no strikes.  Fished it slow and started getting strikes.  After about 30" finally hooked a Bass, then caught a decent Catfish that easily makes the COAF Leader Board.  Estimating the Catfish went about 20" plus; not a bad outing!

Tough Time of Year....

Been itching to go fishing but work and other things have slowed us down.  This made worse knowing Early Teal Season is here.  So, is it fins or feathers we go after.... Tough choice but made a little easier in that work is keeping us away from both.  No complaints though, given the alternative. For now, bear with us as we weather this "rough patch" and maintain our day jobs!

Three Bass While Out and About

Caught three Bass this morning while on the road from a small private pond.  Water was stained and muddy but it looked like a Watermelon Senko worked at least for three Bass lurking in the pond.  Fun stuff!
