Went with a Fly Rod this Time!

Went with a fly rod this time and fished Bethany Lakes; caught Bass and a couple of Bluegill.  Sped up the video this time.  Lotta fun catching them!  Started using a Lefty Deceiver, then switched to a Grasshopper.  Bass were biting; even caught two well after dark!

Bite Was Good After the Rain Storm!

Rain today but it stopped by the evening.  Made a run to Bethany Lakes and fished Senkos on the Ultralight.  Bite was good; caught nine Bass and even saw the big Koi that lurks in the Main Pond!

Grasshopper Variant Again This Round at Bethany

Went with the Four Weight Fly Rod and the Grasshopper Variant at Bethany this evening.  Grasshopper worked well yesterday; looked like it did well again today!  Caught seven Bass and one Sunfish this round.  Fun stuff on light tackle.

Fly Rod This Trip to Bethany

Brought the fly rod this evening to Bethany.  Caught five Bass and two Shellcracker using a Yellow Grasshopper Variant.  Then, caught one more Bass on a Lefty Deceiver; had to switch fishing flies as Grasshopper's legs were really beat up by the fish!  Fun stuff!

PS:  Met two fishermen who were having success with Senkos.  Found out they started using Senkos after reading our Blog.  Good to hear their hook up rate increased.  Thanks for reading our Blog!

Three Bass and Two Misses This Round

Cold temps this round slowed the bite.  Did manage to catch three Bass at Bethany Lakes on Senkos.  Also, had two misses - one break off and one missed hook set.  Still had fun!

Cy Miller Park Pond for Bass and Bluegill

Change of scenery today.  Stopped at Cy Miller Park in College Station while on the road.  The park has a small, half-acre pond by the Police Station.  Fished with the Three Weight Fly Rod and a BH Olive Wooley Bugger.  Caught seven small Bass and three Bluegill. Did see several decent looking Bass; none wanted our fishing fly though!

Dry Flies and a BH Nymph This Time!

Fished Bethany this evening.  Went with the four weight fly rod and dry flies and one bead head nymph.  Caught Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish.  Lost count of how many fish.  Surface action was good, especially liked the Bass taking a dry fly that simulates a dragon fly.  Also, largest Sunfish went about 8.5" in length.

Quick trip to Bethany this morning; only had a little time before other commitments pulled us away from our true love - Fishing!  Bass and Bluegill were readily taking White Foam Rubber Grasshopper Variant.  Fun stuff catching them on the surface!
