Fishing the local tailrace is fun when scrappy White Bass aka Sandies want to play!

As it turned out, the Trout wanted Dry Flies. Additionally, Trout were wanting PowerBait but needed to make sure the bait stayed above the bottom greenery plus add movement to the presentation.
Did manage two Trout that went for a Crackleback!
Had fun fly fishing for little Stripers at the local dam. Denison Dam serves as the tailrace to Lake Texoma. When generating power the Stripers show and lots of action can be had for both fly fishermen and surf casters!
But, don't forget to fish when the current is slack. You may be surprised how many fish lurk in the area.

Suggestion from a viewer, squirmy tail, nymph body... tied a variant that uses the same yarn as the Blue River Producer for the body, then added Grizzly Hackle. Gonna see if trout like it!

Workes well on the Blue River in Oklahoma while fishing for trout that were lurking upstream and parallel to the bank.
Was using an OPST Commando Head on a 10ft 3wt!
Tied a couple more Blue River Producer fishing flies to replace the one I lost the other day. Great pattern for Trout but works on Bass, too. For more details, see the video posted by Zach - originator of the pattern.
