Build Your Own Kayak Fishing Stringer With Tennis Balls In A Snap!

Easy Build, Works Well for Kayak Fishing!

With Paracord, a tennis ball, and a D-Clip, you are set to make your own Tennis Ball Stringer. But, why a Tennis Ball Stringer?
  • Easier to access in cramped conditions like when fishing from a kayak.
  • Less chance of losing a fish while placing it on the stringer; fish falls in the kayak instead of overboard.
  • Fish can swim freely and stay alive longer on the stringer as it trails behind you.
  • Laundry Pins provide a secure hold on “eater size” fish than than standard metal clasp stinger.
Note: Not recommended for large fish aka “Bruisers” that can twist the laundry pin open.

Gloves for Kayak Fishing

What's the Purpose?

Some thoughts on gloves for kayak fishing:
  • Gloves shield you from potential fish fin injuries and minimize blisters during paddling.
  • Additionally, gloves provide a better grip on wet surfaces, ensuring you maintain control of your paddle and fishing gear.
  • They also offer protection from harsh sun exposure, reducing the risk of sunburn on your hands during long hours on the water.
  • In essence, gloves are simple yet effective tools that enhance your safety, efficiency, and overall experience while kayak fishing.
Whether you're a seasoned angler or a novice, be sure to bring them on your next fishing trip!

Mobile Fishing Livestream - Ultralight Baitcasting - Rapala - Edited #mobile #fishing #livestream

Revised version of the Mobile Fishing Livestream video in which I fished a pond using a Rapala X-Rap and a Kastking Zephyr BFS Reel enhanced with Hi-Spool Speed Bearings. The interaction with the audience was enjoyable and engaging.

Here are the key takeaways from this session:

  • Adjust the spool tension and magnetic brakes delicately due to the sensitivity of the custom bearings.
  • Keep the spool tension slightly higher than usual, as minimal force is required to spin the spool.
  • A twitchy retrieve technique proved effective for catching Bass near the bank!

Fishing from a Kayak: Slow Start, but Managed to Catch Fifteen Keepers!

Managed to Catch 15 Fish on this Trip! Check out the action!

Last weekend, I decided to go kayak fishing at Lake Lavon in Texas. I launched from the Lavonia Boat Ramp and began the day with a peaceful paddle on the calm lake surface.

Initially, the fish were elusive, playfully nibbling but not fully committing. However, as the sun rose higher, my luck improved. The first catch, a lively Yellow Bass, gave me a thrilling fight. This trend continued with more small Yellow and White Bass.

By mid-morning, I discovered the fish hiding deep near the lake bottom. Using Slab and Jig Rigs for trolling, and then Bottom Bouncing them, proved to be effective. Additionally, casting towards passing fish schools yielded a catch or two.

In the end, I had caught a total of 15 fish - 14 White Bass and 1 Crappie. However, I lost track of the number of undersized fish that were caught and released!
