Blue River by Hughes Crossing... Posted!

Appreciate the support we get from the Field Team.  Here is one we liked that was recently published on HubPages - "Blue River by Hughes Crossing: Suggested Areas for Rainbow Trout Fishing".  Check it out when you get a chance and do share with others!

Quick Trip Gets Three Bass

Time change makes things tough when it comes to juggling fishing and our day jobs!  Luckily, made it this evening for a quick trip. Caught three Bass on Crankbaits... good enough for now but much prefer the Trout on the Blue River!

PS: Stay tuned... planning to post a new HubPages article about fishing the Blue River by Hughes Crossing - the area we fished this past weekend.

Limited Out at the Blue Today

Made it to the Blue River today.  Had a great time - caught a limit of Trout, released that many as well, and lost (accidental catch and release) a lot more.  Will post a video clip on our YouTube Channel... for now here is a picture of today's catch.  The colors are washed out as the Trout have been in a creel; largest one went about 15" in size!

Three More Bass on the Fly this Evening.

Took the opportunity to fish the evening bite at Bethany.  Went with the same gear and fishing fly as this morning - Three Weight Fly Rod and an Olive Wooley Bugger.  Caught three Bass, missed several others, and had a lot of fun the whole time.

Did see others catching them on the Rip and Rap Rapala!  Looks like Crankbaits are working well for others too!

Three Bass on the Fly this Morning

Decided to take the fly rod out for this morning's quick trip to Bethany Lakes.  Tied some fishing flies last night in preparation for a day trip for Trout across the border to the Blue River.  Worked out well catching three Bass!  Hope the Trout like the fishing flies, too!

Three Bass This Morning

Another quick trip this morning to Bethany.  Caught three Bass on a Rip and Rap; no Bruisers... was hoping the big guy we missed yesterday would be lurking.  Turned out, he was not... that's fishing!

Fished the Morning Bite at Bethany This Round

Decided to fish the morning knowing Halloween is tonight.  Fished Bethany using our Rip and Rap Rapala.  Ended up catching five Bass and losing a nice one that struck but came off soon after.  Fun stuff!

Really Liking the Rip And Rap

Really liking the Rip and Rap Rapala... fished Bethany this evening and caught five Bass.  Did miss two but no worries; still having fun!

Rip and Rap Rapala Does Well Yesterday

Went with a Rip and Rap Rapala Crankbait that we picked up from Cabelas.  Fished Bethany Creek pond - pond  that we had not fished in a while.  Caught a White Bass and a little Bass.  Then, moved on to Bethany Lakes and managed four more Bass!

More Fishing with a Crankbait This Cold Morning

Cannot help but fish again this morning.  Braved the cold temps and fished the same crankbait (Rapala Clack and Rap) we used yesterday at Plano East Senior High School.  This time went to Stoney Hollow Park in Plano.  Had not fished it in awhile.  Glad to see the Bass were biting somewhat.  Lucked out with four Bass this round; all struck near the weed line that parallels the bank.

Crankbait at Plano East Senior High School

Cold front arrived and drop the temps to the 30's.  Decided to try a crankbait at Plano East Senior High School's Catch and Release Pond!  Missed the first strike - a Bass, then caught four Bass.  Fun stuff on a cold morning!

Crankbaits After a Cold Front....

Cold front arrived.  Went for a quick trip to Bethany's Lower Pond.  Fished with Crankbaits and caught one Bass and lost another.  Have to dress warmer next time and stay longer.  Till then, better luck next round!

Two Bass This Round!

Quick trip to the Back Pond at Bethany.  Caught two Bass using our favorite Crankbait.  Not enough light to video tape the second Bass; posted a picture at the end. No Bruisers but still fun!

Missed a Fish, Missed a Catfish,... Caught a Bass

Quick trip to Bethany this evening.  Grabbed the first rod that was rigged and ran out the door... turned out the first rod we grabbed was the Baitcasting Rod that had the Crankbait we like.  Fished for about 45 minutes.  Had a strike but lost it soon after setting the hook, not sure what it was but we suspect it was a Bass.  Then, had a Catfish chase the lure; even got some video of it!  Looked like a Bruiser.  Finally, hooked and landed a Bass, then soon after called it a trip!

Fished Glendover This Round

Fished Glendover this round.  Did a little "scouting" with the camera, taking a few underwater shots to see what was lurking near the pier.  Saw mainly Bluegill but did see a glimpse of a Catfish going by.  So, baited up a fishing rod with Bread and managed to catch two Catfish.  Largest went 20+" in size.  Fun stuff!

Crankbait Gets Three Bass This Round

Late start but finally able to break away from work, making it to Bethany just before it was getting dark.  Used the same Crankbait we picked up the other day from Cabelas and fished the Lower Pond.  Caught three Bass.  No Bruisers but there is always a next time,... we hope!

Fishing with a "Stick, Line, and Fly"

Decided to try the Tenkara Rod out yesterday before the cool front arrived.  Fished the Feeder Creek and the Back Pond using a Grasshopper Variant.  Caught some Scrappy Bass and Bluegill.  All close to the bank.  Fun stuff!

Fishing for Bluegill... Underwater Camera.

Went fishing for Bluegill at Kroger Park.  Was able to get some underwater video of the action.  Water was cloudy so things are fuzzy, then it got dark.  No matter,... it's still fun!
