15 Minute Quick Trip To Bethany!

Action was steady this morning with a limit of Rainbow Trout caught on Copper Super Dupers!  Took only 15 minutes; fish were schooling and readily chasing lures.  Fun stuff!

PS:  Stopped by this evening to checkout the action.  Looked like some were catching them.  A lot of surface action with Super Dupers continuing to be the lure of choice.  Had two missed strikes on an Olive Wooley Bugger and a hookup on a Super Duper.  Did get checked by the Game Warden, so do be sure to have your fishing license.

Bethany Lakes Received Trout Stocking Today!

Bethany received its Trout Stocking today!  Checked it out at lunch time and managed a limit in about 15" once we located them.  Caught four on a Copper Super Duper and one on a Gold Super Duper. Steady retrieve just below the surface worked this round.  Fun stuff!

Two Fishing; Two Limited Out!

Could not stay away; fished the Blue River yesterday - Friday 30 November.  Made it to the River with a Buddy.  Two went fishing; two limited out!  Yellow Powerbait with the Glitter and Garlic worked well.

Back To The Blue!

Made a day trip to the Blue River yesterday (11/29).  Caught two on a Wooley Bugger in the morning, then one on a Powerbait later in the day.  Slow day with lots of fish "eyeing" our fishing flies.  Managed to limit out the last 30" of the trip using Powerbait.

Seven Bass This Round

Things started out slow; then a cold front arrived and got things going.  Caught seven Bass using a Rip and Rap Rapala.  Had issues getting video but made do and was able to put a short video clip together.  Fun stuff!

Four Bass This Time!

More fishing at Bethany; caught four Bass this time!  Used the Rip and Rap Rapala.  Slow action, might have been the recent cold front. Regardless, had a fun time catching them!

Bethany This Round - 3 Bass, 1 White Bass, and a Catfish

Went back out to fish this Thanksgiving!.  Went to Bethany this time; had fun earlier this morning catching Bass at Plano East Senior High School. Hoping for more fun - caught three Bass, one White Bass, and a Catfish on a Rip and Rap Rapala.  Really like crankbaits this time of year; less vegetation to foul hooks and can cover more area quickly when short on time!

Five Bass and a Little Bluegill at Plano East This Thanksgiving Morning!

Decided to fish Plano East Senior High School's pond this morning.  Went with the Rip and Rap Rapala crankbait and caught five Bass and a little Bluegill.  Largest went ~15"-16" in size. Fun stuff for a Thanksgiving morning!

A Big Fish Scale and Two Bass

Went with a Crankbait this evening and fished Bethany.  Missed two strikes, and then hooked (foul hooked) a large Koi.  Ended up with a big fish scale.  Kept fishing for a while and managed to land two Bass.  Not Bruisers but still beats working!

Only One This Morning

Checked out the Bethany Lakes this morning.  Slow bite; caught only one little Bass.  Went across the street to Bethany Park (Kroger Park) and struck out.  Did see a decent Bass in the shallows but spooked it.  Still fun despite the slow bite and the cold temps!

Back To The Blue River

Went back to the Blue River Friday, 16 November for another go at the Rainbow Trout.  Temps were hovering around freezing in the morning.  Managed to catch four Trout!  First two went for an Olive Wooley Bugger Variant.  Third one went for a Olive/Black Wooley Bugger.  Last one went for a White Damsel Fly!  Did lose two others and spent a lot of time sight casting to Trout and Bass.  Had a number of them turn away at the last minute from the fishing fly.  Also, did get a couple of strikes on a Copper John; hooked but came off soon after.  Did not limit out but was a good day to be out there!

Tough Go on the Blue River today but did limit out!

Trout Derby was in full swing and lots of Trout were being caught including a few Bruisers.

After fishing all day, was able to limit out on Trout.  Started fishing flies and had two strikes.  Switched to Spinning Gear and had no strikes.  Switched to PowerBait and started getting bites.

Slow action... took from 8AM to 4PM to get a limit!

Quick Trip Gets Three Bass

Time change makes things tough when it comes to juggling fishing and our day jobs!  Luckily, made it this evening for a quick trip. Caught three Bass on Crankbaits... good enough for now but much prefer the Trout on the Blue River!

PS: Stay tuned... planning to post a new HubPages article about fishing the Blue River by Hughes Crossing - the area we fished this past weekend.
