I also detail the handline made with PVC and a Quilting Spool of Thread.

And, I mention a commercial version made with aluminum purchased from Amazon.

Closed Out 2023 with Two Trout - Let's Talk Fishing - Reel Cast Fishing Podcast - Episode 2

Closed out the year with a final trip to Waterloo Pond in Denison, TX. Plan was to see if the trout would take a Squirmy Tail Nymph and to capture underwater action with the Water Wolf Camera.

As it turned out, the Trout wanted Dry Flies. Additionally, Trout were wanting PowerBait but needed to make sure the bait stayed above the bottom greenery plus add movement to the presentation.

Did manage two Trout that went for a Crackleback!

Little Stripers Are Fun, Too #fishing #flyfishing #fun Had fun fly fishing for little Stripers at the local dam. https://youtube.com/shorts/OPPrwsqYmRE?feature=share

Had fun fly fishing for little Stripers at the local dam. Denison Dam serves as the tailrace to Lake Texoma. When generating power the Stripers show and lots of action can be had for both fly fishermen and surf casters!

But, don't forget to fish when the current is slack. You may be surprised how many fish lurk in the area.

What Retrieve Was I Using For Striped Bass? #fishing #flyfishing #tips

Answering the mail on the retrieve I used when fishing Denison Dam, tailrace to Texoma! I was using a fast retrieve with short pulls of the fly line, setting the hook when I felt resistance. At the end of the retrieve, I would keep the fly moving by sweeping my rod from left to right. Often getting strikes while sweeping the rod.
