Cork and Jig Rig Results in One Bass At Bethany Ridge This PM

Used a Cork and Jig Rig at Bethany Ridge Park this evening.  Caught one Bass on a cast that crossed the pond!  Spent more time reeling than fighting the little guy. Still... good practice for Denison Dam and its Stripers!

Only 15" To Fish

Had only 15" to fish this evening.  Managed a little Bass on flyfishing gear and two missed strikes.  Windy and cool with the latest front but a fast retrieve seemed to be working.

2 Bass and 2 Bluegill

Back to Bethany again.  Two Bass and two Bluegill with others observed catching Bass as well.  No Bruisers today but still too nice a day to pass up a chance to wet a line.

Three Sunfish and a Bass...

Decided to fish Bethany Lakes and see what the weather did to the pattern.  Slower action but still able catch a few.  Caught three Sunfish and a Bass on Wooley Buggers.

2 Sunfish and then a Bethany Lakes Bruiser Bluegill!

Fished Bethany Lakes this morning. Front has things colder and wetter with a slight slowdown in the action. Was able to catch two Sunfish on a Prince Nymph fishing fly, and then landed a Bruiser Bluegill on a Bead Head Olive Wooley Bugger. Measured 10.25" in size. Picture below was taken at a slight angle but close inspection confirmed the length. Personal best Bluegill; going to submit to the COAF Leader Board!

Opted to fish Bethany Lakes this morning.  Caught 4 Bass on a Wooley Bugger.  Did lose another one that may have gone 12"-13".  Else, largest of the 4 Bass was only 11" in size.

Fun way to start a Friday and ring in the Weekend!
