Went back to Brockdale Park this evening. Used surfcasting gear to fish the Point. Front seems to have changed things with less surface activity compared to yesterday. Did manage four undersized White Bass. Regardless, was good to know a Cork and Jig Rig was still getting a strike or two!

Back to Brockdale Park to Troll for White Bass
Went back to Brockdale Park this afternoon for more fun with the White Bass. This time, opted to troll Roadrunners on a flatline instead of surfcasting Cork and Jig Rigs like we did this morning. Managed to catch eight keepers and let go a lot more under-sized fish! Good day overall.

Stopped by Brockdale Park @ Lake Lavon With Surfcasting Gear
Stopped by Brockdale Park (Lake Lavon) armed with surfcasting gear to check if the White Bass have returned. Caught 5 keeper-sized White Bass with the largest going almost 15" in size. Also, caught and released under-sized White Bass, Yellow Bass, and a little Largemouth Bass! Good to know the fish have returned to the Point... Fun Stuff!

8 Bluegill and 4 Bass at Bethany Ridge on Grasshoppers!
Fished Bethany Ridge the late morning. Caught 8 Bluegill and 4 Bass. A lot of activity with overcast skies made for some fun action. Lost a lot more Bass when the hook came free. Else, was a good outing with two largest Bass going about 14" and 13.5"!

COAF Field Team's "Places To Fish"
Rain stopped the Team cold for now. To pass the time, decided to pool our notes together and map out places we have fished in the past. Emphasis is on community lakes and ponds that offer public access, but we did list other locations that we like! Check it out when you get a chance - COAF Field Team's "Places To Fish"!

Eleven Catfish On Bread At Bethany Lakes!
Wind calmed down slightly this evening. Decided to give it a go and try for some Bruiser Catfish at Bethany Lakes. Did well but only managed one "semi-Bruiser" that went just over 17" in size, else the remainder ranged from 12" to 15" with the majority going ~14"! Still not a bad outing given a grocery store bait like Bread.

Brutal Wind Conditions Today But Managed To Catch a Few On The Fly This Evening!
Fished Bethany Lakes this evening. Brutal wind conditions with 40mph gusts reported. No worries - caste with the wind behind and playe with the backcast's timing. Result: Four Bass, two Sunfish, and one Bluegill. Largest fish was a Bass that went just over 14"! Submitting the Bass to May's One Fishing Fly Challenge.

Bread for Bait Worked Again at Bethany Lakes!
Went back to Bethany Lakes this evening for a quick trip. Bread for bait worked again at Bethany Lakes with three Catfish caught and many more missed strikes. Missed the Youth Fishing Derby held earlier but lucked out on a deal.... Was on the road today. While passing through Corsicana stopped by Gander Mountain. A lot of items on clearance; bought 4 flyfishing lines and a spool of leader for 97 Cents each. Total cost was $5.25!
