Four Bass On Wooley Buggers This Evening At Bethany Lakes

Caught four bass on Wooley Buggers this evening at Bethany Lakes.  Was able to fish right after it rained.  Bite was steady for about 30", then it tapered off.  No Bruisers again, just little Scrappers!

Fished White Rock Lake in Dallas This Morning....

Fished White Rock Lake in Dallas this morning.  Tried Bread for bait and Olive Wooley Buggers in one of the creeks.  Caught mainly small Sunfish and Bluegill.  Did see a few Bruiser Bass as well as smaller Bass.  They were selectively feeding and pretty much ignored our fishing flies.  Fishing buddy did hook a large Goldfish but lost it while trying to land it.  Decided to take break and have lunch - temps were in the 100s!  Afterwards, hit one of the coves and had a few hits on Bread, else no luck.  Still was fun regardless of the slow action and heat.

Returned to Bethany Lakes To Try Bread For Bait.

Returned to Bethany Lakes this afternoon to try Bread for bait.  Caught Catfish and a Bass.  Was surprised the Bass took the Bread.  Still a fun catch, especially when it decided to jump a few times while bringing it in.  Catfish ranged from 12" to 14" in size but there was one Bruiser that we lost while trying to land it.  Oh well.... still a good time!

A Few Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish At Bethany Lakes This Morning

Caught a few Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish at Bethany Lakes this morning.  Steady action on Olive Wooley Buggers and White Grasshoppers.  Fun catching them on the fly!

Lost A Bruiser, Else It Was Small And Smaller Bluegill....!

Fished Stoney Hollow Park in Plano this evening.  Action was slow but did hook and then lose a Bruiser Bass on the Yellow Grasshopper.  Tied on another Grasshopper and caught small Bluegill, then switched to a Brown Wooley Bugger and caught a very small Bluegill.  Only slightly bigger than the fishing fly!  Fun, fun, fun,....

Four Little Bass At Davis Library Pond in Plano On A Yellow Grasshopper.

Was out and about in Plano this evening.  Stopped by Davis Library to fish the nearby pond.  Caught four little Bass on a Yellow Grasshopper.  Also, caught a number of Bluegill and Sunfish.  Most were caught working the shallows where the Bass were actively feeding on baitfish.  No Bruisers this round but have seen them lurking in the pond in the past.

Two Bass At Kroger Park This Evening

Stopped by Kroger Park this evening and caught two Bass on Olive Wooley Buggers.  Had a Bruiser strike but missed the hookset.... Only fished for about 15" but had a fair amount of action.

Another Slow Go At Bethany Lakes.... Caught One Little Bass.

Fished Bethany Lakes this morning.  Was another slow go with only one little Bass caught.  Caught it on an Olive Wooley Bugger.  May need to shift focus on the Catfish.

Did receive the two Breadflly fishing flies ordered from Pondbass' Fly Shop.  Ordered these to replace the one I lost several weeks ago.  Nice fishing flies!

Two Bass and Bluegill/Sunfish At Bethany Lakes This Morning

Caught two Bass and several Bluegill/Sunfish at Bethany Lakes this morning.  Caught one Bass on a Yellow/White Grasshopper.  All other fish were caught on an Olive Wooley Bugger.  Several Bruisers feeding in the shallows with a couple making short strikes at the Olive Wooley Bugger, else no hook ups!

Bass caught on the Grasshopper went 10" in size, other Bass was much smaller.  Went ahead and submitted the 10" Bass to July's One Fishing Fly Challenge.  Slow month this round, little Bass posted second on the Challenge behind an 11" Bass.
