Two Bass and Bluegill/Sunfish At Bethany Lakes This Morning

Caught two Bass and several Bluegill/Sunfish at Bethany Lakes this morning.  Caught one Bass on a Yellow/White Grasshopper.  All other fish were caught on an Olive Wooley Bugger.  Several Bruisers feeding in the shallows with a couple making short strikes at the Olive Wooley Bugger, else no hook ups!

Bass caught on the Grasshopper went 10" in size, other Bass was much smaller.  Went ahead and submitted the 10" Bass to July's One Fishing Fly Challenge.  Slow month this round, little Bass posted second on the Challenge behind an 11" Bass.

  1. The bass fishing at Bethany Lakes has been slow for me this month as well. The extreme heat and consistent rain has really disrupted the previous patterns. I really have to knuckle-down to land any fish. Its been this way at other locations as well.

A quick report on Frisco Commons: I fished it for the first time this past week with some interesting results. The fishing was relatively slow, but the water looks great. Lots of baitfish and solid vegetation (not moss). I only caught a few fish, but I did manage to land a bruiser. Probably around 4 or 5 pounds.
