Tough outing at Bethany today. Tried a variation of the Lefty Deceiver without success. Had one strike but missed the hookset. Switched to a Yellow Grasshopper and managed a Bluegill and a Sunfish with the latter caught well after dark.

Two Bass On A Lefty Deceiver At Bethany Lakes.
Tried a Lefty Deceiver to tempt the Bass at Bethany Lakes this evening. Caught two Bass using a slow retrieve and simulating an injured minnow. Tried a faster retrieve without a strike. Looks like slow was the key today!

A Sunfish and Three Bass At Bethany Lakes
Back to Bethany this evening to redeem yesterday's strikeout. Today was better with one Sunfish caught on a Clouser Minnow, two Bass caught on a Yellow Grasshopper, and one Bass on a Bead Head Leech Streamer.
Had to switch lures as the Clouser was not triggering strikes even when passed right by the Bass in the shallows! Good day made even better with the nice weather.

Final Teal Hunt Closes Out The 2010 Early Teal Season....
Last day of Early Teal Season for 2010 ends with no shots fired. A few hunters were taking Teal near the feeder creeks and tree lines. But, none passed within range of our decoy spread. Still good to get out and enjoy the opportunity to hunt! Time to make preparations for Deer Season and Regular Duck Season.
PS: Good to meet and hunt with two hunters - James and Hayden! Was a tough go this morning but looking forward to the Regular Season. Good luck and good hunting!

A Dozen Bass On A Clouser At Bethany!
Skies were overcast but without rain. That said, it was a banner day fishing a Clouser Minnow at Bethany Lakes. Caught and released a dozen Bass! Lost two others, one of which could have taken the lead in this month's One Fishing Fly Challenge. However, was not successful in landing it!. Still another good day fishing!

Teal On The Barbie!
Doing like Crocodile Dundee but is Teal instead of Shrimp on the barbecue. After marinading overnight in apple juice, balsamic vinegar, and a touch of garlic salt, cooked yesterday's bag over hot coals. While grilling over the coals, used Salt Pork to keep from drying out the Teal and Season Salt to bring out the flavor. Cooked to medium rare and served with side dishes of Potato Salad and Bean Soup... yum, yum, yum!
