Fun time this past weekend in Oklahoma! Limited out at the Blue River, then checked out some local happening in OKC!

Mystery Tackle Box had some cool lures for panfish and trout.

What Worked For Us Trout Fishing the Blue River... Ultralight Bait Casting and More!

Had Friday off last week. Made the run to the Blue River to try trout fishing using ultralight fishing gear. We left the fly fishing gear at home.

Your truly and opted for a Bait Finesse System Combo that truly has me hooked. Our fishing buddy went with an Ultralight Spinning Combo.

Tried various lures and in the end, it came down to Super Dupers and presentation, changing the retrieve as needed based on the trout striking or more importantly on what they were nor striking!

Quick Fishing Update | Oklahoma This Weekend

Quick update on this past weekend's fishing fun. Made the run to the Blue River in Oklahoma where we fished with Bait Finesse Gear and Ultralight Spinning Gear. Two fished; two limits taken!

But, was not just about fishing. Able to checkout the happenings at the OK State Fairgrounds - specifically, the Gun Show and the Backwoods and Outdoor Show.

Shout out to the folks we saw this weekend! Great meeting Kevin at Scotty's One Stop, Scott at the Gun Show, and the Official Fish Boss at the Backwoods and Outdoor Show!

What I Did Again To Limit Out Trout Fishing... 5 Steps Worked!

Fished another pond for trout and limited out. Tried the five steps detailed in another video. Looks like they worked! Just needed to find the pattern. Check out the video!

Step 1 - Observe

Step 2 - What worked before?

Step 3 - What is Different?

Step 4 - Give them what they want!

Step 5 - Catch a limit!

Ended up limiting out on trout suing Silver Super Dupers!

No Fishing… DIY Honey Do. #lazysusan

Alrighty, last weekend was sidetracked with a DIY Honey Do to make a Lazy Susan. Simple build… got it done! Turned out nice. Matched the table too. Able to get  back to fishing again in short order. Whew!

Another Front On the Way [1-06-2015]

Noticed the weather forecast is warning of another cold front arriving this week. Looks like cold temps and wintry precipitation is likely. Moreover, no reports from the Field Team. Suspect they are hot and heavy working their day jobs to "mess" with fishing.

No worries for this Blogger... or as Glenn  calls me, "The Weblog Admin". That said, since I am a volunteer and don't get paid, I do like being referenced as "The Weblog Admin"!

So until the next report, here is picture that the Team sent. From his notes, it sounded like the birds return each year to Waterloo in Denison!
