Our inability to post fishing reports due to the recent rains is giving us withdrawals. We are listening intently for reports from several locations in our area - Denison Dam, Lake Lavon, and Lake Lewisville Ecological Learning Area. When the dams are releasing water, the fish activity seems to pickup in the tailraces. So far, no confirmed reports but will keep an eye out.
FYI: An example of the Real Time (Hydropower) Release for Denison Dam is provided in the link. The information is delayed 15" to 30" and may prove useful when planning a trip.

Checked out the pond at Bethany Ridge Park. Had to call it short when I lost my lure but did observe activity along the bank. Looks promising; just need to bring along more than one lure on these quick trips.

April 24, 2009 - Bethany Again.
Quick trip to Bethany Lakes again. Tried to get the Bass to strike while in their beds. Can see them easily in the shallows but only managed to get one to strike. May need to shift to Lake Lavon and try hitting the points for White Bass and Yellow Bass using the kayak.

Bethany Lakes AM
Stopped by Bethany Lakes this morning. No hook-ups but Bass were following my lure. Bass seemed to be near the pier and near the "pipe area" in the Upper Pond. Can see them on their beds. May need to switch to an "aggravator" type lure.

Two On a Damsel Fly.
Caught two Bass this morning flyfishing an Olive Damsel Fly at Bethany Lakes. Bass were in the shallows and would follow the fishing fly but struck only on occasion. Tried Wooley Buggers, Surface Poppers, and other fishing flies without success. Cold morning may have had some effect on their appetite.
