Warmer Temps and Bluegill/Sunfish are Nesting, Great Time Catching Them on the Tenkara Rod!
Warmer temps made for a comfortable outing at Bethany Lakes. Observed Bluegill/Sunfish nesting in the shallows. Brought the Tenkara Rod and a White Foam Spider. Good news... surface action was happening! Had a great time catching (and releasing the scrappy fighters). Caught 24 fish, two were little Bass. Else it was Bluegill and Sunfish!

Tenkara for Lunch Anyone!
Been tough working our day jobs. Busy times... regardless, gotta make time for the important things like Fishing! Took a break at lunch and did a little Tenkara Fishing. Caught one Sunfish on a Purple Damsel Fly and three little Bass on an Olive Crawdad! Fun stuff, just went by too fast.

Cool Front and Rain Showers Changed the Pattern...
Cool front and rain showers moved in the last few days. Definitely changed the pattern! Sun came out today and hopefully temps will warm up soon. Was able to fish one of the local ponds using the Tenkara Rod and a Damsel Fly. Had two strikes and misses, then a hookup on a Bass. Only problem was it came loose on the bank and flopped quickly back in to the water. Finally managed to land one and take a picture of it - a little Bass.

Quick Trip Yields Two Bass...
Been hectic at our day jobs but did manage to make it to Bethany for a quick 30" trip. Went with a Flyrod and a White Foam Spider. Wind was strong but did manage to cast good enough to hook a couple of Bass. No Bruisers but still fun. Also caught a few small Sunfish but opted not to take pictures of them.

More Sunfish and a Bass at Bethany!
Only had a short amount of time to fish today. Went simple,... bringing only the Tenkara Rod and an Olive Crawdad. Caught a few Sunfish and a little Bass. Action has slowed with the cooler temps. No worries, things will turn soon!
Here's the picture of the little Bass.

Tenkara Fishing at Lunch Time,... Three Sunfish and a Bass!
Another reason we like Tenkara Fishing is it offers ease of setup so that a short 30" Lunch Break can turn into a Fishing Trip!
Made it to Bethany and fished an Olive Crawdad. Landed three Sunfish and a Bass. Action was slower compared to yesterday. Guessing the cooler temps has impacted them. No worries, action will pick up again!

More Tenkara Fishing at Bethany,.... 3 Bass and 5 Sunfish!
Went back to Bethany for more Tenkara Fishing. Made it right before the thunderstorm arrived. Managed to catch 3 little Bass and 5 Sunfish in about 30". Did notice the downed trees and branches everywhere. Looks like the strong winds last night had an impact on the park.

Tenkara Fishing at Bethany Lakes Makes Good,...
Welcome! Tenkara Fishing at Bethany Lakes makes good again with another fun trip catching and releasing Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish. Largest Bass went about 14" or 15" in length.
Afterwards, loaded up on Bread and Dough Bait and fished Glendover for Catfish. Caught three. Bite was slower and Catfish were not as big compared to the day before!

Caught and Released a Few Catfish at Glendover!
Went to Glendover Park with JB11 for a go at the Catfish. Brought Bread and the Homemade Dough Bait. Action was steady on both baits. Caught and released 10 Catfish ranging from 16" to 20" in size with the majority going 18"-19".... Fun stuff!

Caught and Released a Snapping Turtle and Two Catfish!
Fished Bethany Lakes in the early evening. Things started out slow with the main activity being Ducks! Had a few nibbles but nothing solid. Then, got a nice strike that turned out to be a Snapping Turtle! More nibbles and missed hooksets, then hooked and landed a Bruiser Catfish that went 20.5" in size. Released it, and then soon after caught a smaller Catfish. Closed out the trip watching more Ducks (that is Ducklings); posted the Bruiser on the Team's Leader Board!
