March 1, 2009 - Limited Out @ Towne Lake.

Fished the early afternoon with the action picking up later in the day. Able to take another limit of Trout at McKinney's Towne Lake. However, action has slowed compared to last week. Took about 2 hours to get a limit, and the frequency of bites was lower than last week. First three were caught using Corn fished on the bottom. Last two were taken on Bread free-lined using a treble hook. Checked stomach contents. Two had Corn, one had a Crappie Nibble in Chartruese. Remainder were empty. Noted others fishing the surface were having good success. Lures and flyfishing did not appear to be productive. FYI: Cormorant arrived and started chasing/eating the Trout. Best bet is to fish Towne Lake sooner than later as the Cormorant will take their share quickly. Click-on DFW Fishing News for more fishing information in the Metroplex area. Or, go to Texas Rainbow Trout Fishing - Community Lakes for trout fishing information on community lakes in the area.
